The world famous tall tales of "Baron Munchhauen" - his cannonball ride, the journey to the moon, and the horse on the church steeple - count among the classics of European literature. Now comes a comic opera about the "Superman" of the nineteenth century, cloaked musically by Wolfgang Mitterer in a provocative sample mix of classical sounds, wolf howl, the din of war and groaning ship's masts - and visualized in a spectacular manner my the Catalonian video artist Franc Aleu.
Features impressive computer animations, which stylistically vacillate between comics, science fiction trash, and eloborate game aesthetic, and which in their intangibility do, indeed, exert a poetic effect when the protagonists appear to interact with them. (Die Presse)
Original, poetic computer animations conjure up fire and water, battlefields, Oriental gardens, ocean depths, ship decks, ducks, wolves, flying horses, and many exraordinary abstract images. (Opernwelt)
